Why Facebook Marketing? The simple answer I have is “Why wouldn’t you! If I offered you the opportunity to place a FREE TV commercial for your business during the Super Bowl, would you turn that down? Probably not. Yet, Facebook.com has over 500 million users and still thousands of small businesses have yet to take advantage a FREE business page. Why is that?
When I asked my clients why they aren’t on Facebook, the responses I got were…
1) I just don’t get online marketing (that is why I hired you)
2) Facebook isn’t for me
3) Facebook takes too much time
4) Facebook doesn’t work in my business
After hearing these reasons over and over, is one of the reasons why I decided to create my 12-Week Facebook Marketing program. Facebook is for everyone who wants it. And, marketing on Facebook is ideal for small businesses! You just need to get started, have fun, work on it a little daily and be patient. Get over whatever perceptions you have that are stopping you. You will be surprised what you learn and what doors it opens for you. And if you don’t want it for you personally, you can easily keep the two separate.
Now… back to “Why Facebook Marketing”? In the past, we communicated with customers through traditional media (like TV, radio and print), direct sales and networking. While those forms of marketing still work, the internet has emerged as a powerful tool for communicating with existing customers and finding new ones. Social media takes it a step further by creating conversations between companies and customers. You see, traditional media and online marketing (like search, email and having a website) are one-way communication tools that businesses use to promote their products and services to customers. However, with social media like Facebook, you can have two-way conversations on your page, on their walls, in groups, at events and through email. It’s a powerful way to open the possibilities for building better relationships with your customers.
Once you embrace Facebook Marketing, the things you can do on Facebook in an effective and FREE way are amazing as well…
- Obtaining new clients
- Building relationships with existing clients
- Promoting new products and services
- Building authority in your industry
- Create buzz and PR for your business
